Spatial Data Integrations,
Inc. (SDI) Implements Louisville Common Operational
Picture (LCOP) for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
LOUISVILLE,
Ky., May 10, 2010 –The United States Army Corps
of Engineers (USACE) – Louisville District contracted
Spatial Data Integrations, Inc. (SDI) to develop
a custom Emergency Management-centric ESRI ArcGIS
Server based website.
The Louisville Common
Operational Picture (LCOP) transforms the way USACE
manages and responds to emergencies by allowing
all staff members to visualize and obtain information
from hundreds of accessible data layers within the
USACE and publically available websites. This one-stop
location allows responders to quickly obtain the
information needed to make accurate and timely decisions
based upon the most current real-time weather radar,
warnings, National Weather Service (NWS) stream
and river gages.
LCOP was built using
ESRI’s ArcGIS Server 9.3 and the FLEX API. “As soon
as I saw the FLEX API for the first time at the
Virginia Department of Emergency Management, I knew
that this technology is what the Louisville District
needed to implement in order to provide valuable
information to our staff without having to rely
on any client side software,” says Terry Siemsen,
GIS Specialist for Emergency Operations, USACE –
Louisville District.
Founded in 1994, SDI
