Water District Upgrades GIS Software and Equipment
to Provide Greater Accuracy and Distribution of
its Existing Investment.
LOUISVILLE,
Ky., June 1, 2010 – Meade County Water District
(MCWD), located in Brandenburg, KY, recently upgraded
its existing GIS investment by adding a Trimble
GeoXH subfoot global positioning systems (GPS) running
ESRI’s mobile GIS software, ArcPad®, for high accuracy
data collection and MapSync’s GeoSyncXG® software
for internal and mobile data distribution.

location and allow for the distribution of the existing
GIS system throughout the district. GeoSyncXG desktop
software makes it easy for GIS users to create targeted
interactive maps for desktop or mobile viewing in
a friendly and easy to use interface. In addition,
MCWD personnel will have the ability to search,
view, and print published interactive maps as well
as, perform advanced network traces and valve isolations
